But divorce mediation does not provide a full enough description of the services Johnson Mediation offers.  Mediated divorce is a starting point, and once you start the divorce process with Johnson Mediation, the staff can guide you through its many other services, some of which are directly related to the divorce process, and others may be worth considering further on down the road.

Separating Family Support Services we offer in Minnesota:

  • Parenting Consultant: When there are issues of paternity, legal separation, or parenting, it may be necessary for a neutral party, in the personage of a Parenting Consultant, to assist the divorcing parents in resolving the disputes at hand. Parenting consultants are especially helpful when the disputes between the parents may have a negative effect on their children.
  • Parenting Time Expeditor: A PTE works with divorcing parents to resolve issues of time spent with children after divorce. When divorcing parents request a PTE, they may have some measure of control over the role of the PTE; in cases where a court appoints a Parenting Time Expeditor, the parents may be less able to influence the role of the PTE.  In either extreme, the PTE is present to help resolve issues in ways that are more likely to guarantee a positive result for the children affected by the divorce.
  • Social Early Neutral Evaluation: This process is designed to help resolve disputes between parents regarding custody and visitation. Family Court Services provides a staff member, who offers impressions through the process of evaluation.
  • Financial Early Neutral Evaluation: The provision of neutral information regarding financial matters is offered in hopes of helping the parents reach the best possible solution to whatever financial issues exist between them. The early neutral evaluation of financial matters is intended to help the divorcing parties recognize the benefits of mediated processes, and possibly avoid the costlier and longer processes of the court system.
