Maybe you aren’t fighting at all and you have just recognized that it’s time to move on and start a new chapter? The Ideal Mediation Couple

Did we trick you with the title? The fact is, there is no ideal divorcing couple. People are getting divorced for a reason, usually more than just one. We understand that this may be the most difficult time in your lives, and talking to your spouse and hashing out your history may be the last thing on your mind. Mediation is not here to hash out your differences. We are here to focus on your future and provide a safe environment for both of you to work out the best equitable agreements for your divorce. Our mediation team has seen it all. No case is too complicated in which it has to go to court. All cases should be settled during a mediation session so that everyone has a fair chance at a better life.

The Mediation Process

Typically, couples will meet with their mediator for about 3-4 sessions that last about 2 hours long. Times and session amounts may vary depending upon the couples. Both the participants and the mediator will identify issues that need any resolution and determine how all of the information and data needs to be gathered and shared with one another. The mediator is a mutual person that gives each party uninterrupted time to speak, asks a party to explain a point, if necessary, and may ask further questions to keep communication clear. The mediator is not a decision maker and only works to help each participants come to an agreement with their decisions.

Divorce is tough and stressful. Don’t add to the stress by dragging you and your spouse through a drawn out courtroom brawl. If you have plans on getting divorced and live in the Chanhassen, MN area, call Johnson Mediation for a free 1 hour consultation. Call us today at (952)401-7599.
